Turkey’s Baykar Defense today signed its “biggest ever export contract” with Saudi Arabia for the export of Akinci attack drones.
The number of drones nor the value of the contract has not been disclosed yet.
“We signed a Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA export and cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia. Good luck and good luck with the biggest defense and aerospace export contract in the history of the Republic of Turkey,” Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar confirmed in a tweet today.
Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman also said in a statement on his Twitter account that he had signed two contracts with the Turkish side to acquire drones.
Baykar said AKINCI will “serve in the inventory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Air and Naval Forces.”
