Morocco is exploring acquisition of Turkish-made AKINCI unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs) and has already begun talks with drone maker Baykar.

This was reported by lecollimateur.ma citing its own sources.

Apart from Turkey, only the Azerbaijani, Pakistani, and Saudi armies currently possess Akinci combat drone.

In April 2021, the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces (Far-Maroc) signed a 626 million Moroccan dirham ($70 million) agreement with Baykar for 13 Bayraktar TB2s. This deal reportedly covers four remote control ground stations, a configurable simulation system for flying the drones, and a digital system for tracking and storing information. A drone operation center will also be set up at a Moroccan airbase.
