Royal Netherlands Air Force Equips Israeli DIRCM on VIP Aircraft

Elbit Systems said it provided the Royal Netherlands Air Force’s (RNLAF) Gulfstream G-650ER VIP Aircraft with a self-protection suite.

This delivery occurred within a year of the agreement being signed and followed a comprehensive series of flight acceptance tests.

These flight acceptance tests involved assessing the system's performance during multiple flights, all of which were successful and met the customer's expectations. The aircraft was equipped with an advanced protective suite, featuring Elbit Systems' Direct Infra-Red Counter Measures (DIRCM) and Infra-Red-based Passive Airborne Warning System (IR MWS), and it possessed an EASA supplemental type certificate (STC) for this configuration.

This endeavor is part of a broader global initiative, which includes the NATO MRTT A330 refueling fleet project, of which the Netherlands is a member. This project also incorporates a similar protection system.
