Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KONGSBERG) has inked a deal to supply more Naval Strike Missiles to Norwegian Navy.

The value of the contract is MNOK 487 (~$46 million).

The Naval Strike Missile (NSM) is a precision, long-range weapon designed to seek and destroy enemy ships over 100 nautical miles away. It utilizes multiple navigation systems, including Inertial, GPS, terrain-reference, and features imaging infrared homing with a target database onboard.

With a speed range of 0.7 to 0.9 Mach and dimensions of 407 kg (897 lbs) and 3.96 meters (156 inches) in length, the NSM is capable of engaging both sea and land targets.

These anti-ship missiles are deployed on the Royal Norwegian Navy's six Skjold-class corvettes and four Fridtjof Nansen-class frigates.
