Lockheed Martin has won a contract valued at $746 million to facilitate the integration efforts of the government of Switzerland into the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program as part of a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) arrangement.

Swiss industry already plays a role in building the F-35, with a couple of local suppliers (SR Technics, Meggitt, Fisba AG, Nozomi Networks) providing components to the aircraft.

This contract aims to strengthen Switzerland's participation in the F-35 program. Work is expected to be completed by December 2030.

Switzerland signed a procurement contract worth $6.2 billion for the F-35A in September 2022, formalizing the selection announcement made in June 2021. The contract agrees to the procurement of 36 F-35As to be delivered between 2027 and 2030.
