The Pentagon has announced a $380 million contract with Lockheed Martin for the production of MH-60R helicopters destined for Spain.
This order encompasses the production and delivery of eight MH-60R aircraft for the Spanish government, according to an official release issued today.
The work on this contract is projected to be completed by March 2027.
In March 2022, the U.S. State Department granted approval for the sale of eight MH-60R helicopters, 20 T-700-GE-401C engines, and a variety of weapons and systems to Spain. This package includes 32 Hellfire air-to-surface missiles, 100 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) II guidance sections, communications equipment, 4 Airborne Low Frequency Sonars (ALFS), sonobuoys, and more, all estimated to be worth $950 million.
