The Indonesian Export Financing Institution (LPEI), also known as Indonesia Eximbank, has entered into an export financing agreement with PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) to facilitate the export of 6 NC212i aircraft to the Department of National Defense/Armed Forces of the Philippines (DND/AFP) for a total value of $79 million.
This critical financing support is provided under the Special Export Assignment (PKE) and National Interest Account (NIA) schemes by the Indonesian Ministry of Finance to bolster the country's strategic transportation equipment manufacturing industry.
The agreement was formally signed on October 18, 2023, at the LPEI office in Jakarta.
Wildan Arief, Director of Finance, Risk Management, and Human Resources at PTDI, expressed deep appreciation for LPEI's support, highlighting the high performance and reliability of the PTDI NC212i aircraft, which has been ordered by the Philippines for the second time. The hope is that this financing solution will pave the way for more PTDI-produced aircraft exports to further contribute to Indonesia's foreign exchange and industry growth.
The NC212i aircraft, a modern light transport aircraft with advanced avionics, a full glass cockpit, and autopilot features, is setting standards in its class. PTDI has been the sole global manufacturer of NC212i aircraft since 2014, with 123 units delivered to various domestic and international customers out of a total population of 606 NC212 series aircraft worldwide.
This financing agreement with PTDI marks the third facility provided by LPEI since 2018, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Indonesia's export efforts in the aerospace industry. Previously, LPEI had supported PTDI's contracts with Nepal and Senegal, successfully delivering military transport and maritime patrol aircraft.
