Embraer has entered into a Follow On Support Agreement contract with the Hellenic Air Force, providing integrated logistical support services for their fleet of one ERJ-135LR and four ERJ-145 AEW&C aircraft.

The comprehensive contract encompasses spare parts, repair, pool, maintenance, and technical services for the five Embraer jets currently operational within the Hellenic Air Force.

The contract features a dedicated parts Pool Program tailored for Embraer’s military customers. This program, in operation for more than 15 years, facilitates shared inventory costs between customers purchasing the service. It serves as a cost-effective approach to ensure availability for ERJ-135/145, Legacy 600/650, and the AEW&C aircraft operated by defense forces and government customers.

The Erieye EMB-145H AEW&C functions as an airborne Command and Control Platform, deployed by the Hellenic Air Force's 380 AEW&C Squadron, which operates four units. Designed for air and surface operations, this aircraft performs missions including creating a Recognized Air and Surface Picture (RASP), data exchange with air defense and naval units, fighter control, support for joint mixed operations, emission control procedures (EMCON), and Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) collection and reduction. With a crew of 7 (2 Flight Crew and 5 Mission Crew), the EMB-145H AEW&C is constructed by Embraer, utilizing mission system components from SAAB, THALLES, and Electronica SPA. Propelled by 2 Turbofan ROLLS ROYCE engines (type AE3007A1P) with a thrust of 2×8169 lb, the aircraft has a span of 21 m, length of 30 m, height of 7.22 m, ceiling of 30,000 ft, and a maximum speed of 0.75 Mach.

Greece considers buying C-390 Millennium transport plane

The Hellenic Air Force is also assessing the potential acquisition of Embraer’s C-390 Millennium, a military transport aircraft capable of carrying 26 tons of cargo. This aircraft, with capabilities including aerial refueling, firefighting, and aeromedical evacuation, is being considered as Greece looks to modernize its aging C-130 Hercules fleet. The country is also exploring options, including Lockheed Martin's C-130J, to meet its evolving transport needs.
