Textron Systems recently secured an amendment for an integrated prototype vehicle and lab, a significant development in the U.S. Marine Corps' Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV) program, emphasizing upgrades to the vehicle's C4 systems and automotive capabilities.
The amendment primarily focuses on upgrading the ARV's Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) and automotive systems, with the primary objectives of enhancing requirements maturity and improving overall vehicle system performance, particularly in terms of reliability. The project is scheduled for completion in 2025.
An integral part of this amendment is the incorporation of advanced battle software intended to define and refine program requirements. This upgraded software aims to boost the ARV's operational capabilities, ensuring optimal performance across a range of mission scenarios. Textron Systems' software solutions, exemplified by the Cottonmouth, are expected to play a crucial role in supporting the Marines as they evaluate future operations in various environments.
With the amendment in place, Textron Systems will continue its purpose-built ARV development efforts through 2025.
