The Islamic Republic of Iran Army has taken delivery of a number of strategic combat, reconnaissance, destruction, and radar drones, designed and manufactured domestically in collaboration with the Iranian Defense Ministry.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Commander of the Army Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi and Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, Iranian state-owned media reported today.
The unveiled UAVs, including the Abail-4, Ababil-5, Arash, Bavar, and Karrar models, claim to offer various capabilities such as reconnaissance, surveillance, electronic warfare, combat, signal data collection, destruction, long-range, and precision-strike missions. These drones are said to be equipped with self-protection measures, anti-electronic warfare systems, indigenous navigation systems, and smart precision-strike weapons.
During the ceremony, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi stated that the deployment of these drones "will definitely improve the combat power" of the Army's branches. He attributed the success to domestic capabilities and the knowledge of the country's young scientists.
Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani added that the new UAVs "will have a significant impact on the combat power of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army" while emphasizing the country's ability to overcome sanctions.
