BAE Systems has displayed the third prototype of the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) equipped with the External Mission Equipment Package (ExMEP) at the 2024 AUSA Global Force Symposium.
ExMEP, also referred to as the universal top plate, serves as a standardized integration point across all AMPV hull structures. This marks the third integration of capabilities within the last six months.
The AMPV's ExMEP showcases compatibility with over 30 turret systems, allowing for swift adjustment to various mission needs. The latest prototype incorporates Elbit America's UT30, a 30mm unmanned turret.
BAE Systems previously exhibited its ability to integrate advanced technologies onto the AMPV platform, including a Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) prototype in November 2023. In January 2024, the company supplied a 120mm unmanned Turreted Mortar capability to the U.S. Army, both utilizing the ExMEP design.
