Rheinmetall has secured a contract from KNDS Germany to provide essential components for 22 self-propelled howitzers, PzH 2000.
The contract, facilitated through Rheinmetall's divisions Weapon and Ammunition, and Vehicle Systems Europe, entails the delivery of 22 weapon systems L52 of 155 mm caliber along with an equal number of chassis for the PzH 2000 for the German Bundeswehr.
The first of these artillery systems is slated for delivery to the Bundeswehr in the summer of 2025 after undergoing final system integration and commissioning at Rheinmetall's facilities in Unterluess.
This has a total contract volume of approximately €135 million.
The PzH 2000 weapon system has been continuously modernized since its development in the 1980s and 90s.
