The Budget Committee of the German Bundestag approved the procurement of the AGDUS (Ausbildungsgerät Duellsimulator) system for the infantry fighting vehicle Puma on April 10.
Additionally, supplementary practice rockets will be purchased for the Tiger attack helicopter.
A total of 258 sets of the AGDUS training equipment will be acquired for the Schützenpanzer Puma by the end of 2026. The cost of approximately €109 million will be covered by the Bundeswehr's special funds. The AGDUS system is a laser-based training system designed for realistic combat scenario exercises and to support preparatory shooting training. It will be utilized at the Army Combat Training Center, firing training centers, and Puma infantry fighting vehicle locations.
Funds from the special allocation will also be used to procure additional rockets for the Tiger attack helicopter. The Budget Committee approved the purchase of an initial 15,180 practice rockets for just under €54 million. Deliveries are scheduled between 2024 and 2026. The contractual agreement with the manufacturer allows for the delivery of up to 31,760 70-millimeter practice rockets for the Tiger attack helicopter.
