U.S.A.F. Orders Additional Seven MH-139A Helicopters
Boeing MH-139A test aircraft

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing $178 million to produce seven MH-139A aircraft and provide sustainment and training support, bringing the total number of aircraft under contract to 26.

The program moves closer to full-rate production upon completing this order.

The award follows the first production aircraft's first flight in December 2023. The initial production aircraft is currently undergoing additional testing, with other aircraft in various stages of production. Boeing remains on track to deliver the first LRIP (Low-Rate Initial Production) aircraft to the Air Force this summer.

The MH-139 is a multi-mission helicopter designed for patrol, search and rescue, as well as troop and cargo transport. It is based on the Leonardo Helicopters AW139 and outfitted with custom military equipment by Boeing.
