Anduril Industries has announced the launch of Pulsar, a new family of modular Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled electromagnetic warfare (EW) systems.

The systems are designed to leverage AI at the tactical edge for rapid threat identification and defeat across the electromagnetic spectrum, including against small and medium-sized drones.

The development of Pulsar comes amid a heightened emphasis on electromagnetic spectrum dominance in modern battlefields, particularly given the evolving nature of drone technology and EW tactics demonstrated in conflicts like the war in Ukraine.

Pulsar integrates various technologies, including a software-defined radio, graphics processing unit, and diverse compute capabilities, to enable radio frequency machine learning (RFML) for real-time threat detection and response. The system supports multiple EW capabilities such as electronic countermeasures, counter-unmanned systems, electronic support, attack capabilities, direction finding, and geolocation.

Pulsar's modular form factor allows for integration onto ground vehicles (Pulsar-V) or aircraft (Pulsar-A), supporting distributed EW operations across different domains. Additionally, its open architecture facilitates seamless integration with common EW and command-and-control systems, enhancing coordination across distributed operations.

The system reduces deployment timelines for new EW capabilities to hours or days, ensuring agility and responsiveness to evolving threats.
