Uralvagonzavod, part of the UVZ concern under Rostec, has dispatched a new shipment of T-90M Proryv and T-72B3M tanks to bolster the Russian military's armored fleet.
Just days before May 9, commemorating Victory Day, Uralvagonzavod sent off a convoy of T-90M Proryv tanks, following a preceding shipment of T-72B3M tanks dispatched in honor of Spring and Labor Day, observed on May 1.
The upgraded T-72B3M boasts improved protection, enhancing both survivability and the effectiveness of this armor in various combat scenarios, including combined arms battles and environments with heavy use of anti-tank weapons. Furthermore, it features a new fire control system that automates preparation for firing and substantially enhances accuracy. It is equipped with a high-power 1,000 hp engine. Notably, this version also includes a new sight system with a digital display, a rear-view video camera, and reinforced armor with Relikt reactive armor side plates. Additional upgrades encompass a new 125mm cannon, an R-168-25U-2 Akveduk ultra-short-wave radio station, improved fire-fighting equipment, and a Sosna-U multi-channel gunner sight.
The T-90M Proryv, on the other hand, boasts all-encompassing armor protection, highly automated all-weather fire control systems, and elevated survivability. This tank features a completely redesigned turret, distinguishing it from the standard combat module, and a 1,130 hp engine. The Proryv is equipped with a 125mm tank cannon capable of firing advanced munitions and long-range missiles, capable of neutralizing enemy tanks from a distance of up to 5 km. The tank incorporates a multi-channel sight, enabling its weaponry to be utilized at any time of the day or night. Additionally, it can exchange real-time data with other combat vehicles, enhancing its effectiveness on the battlefield.
