Turkey’s Baykar has handed over the final batch of Bayraktar TB2 combat systems to Poland, fulfilling a $270 million contract signed in May 2021.
The agreement covered four systems, each comprising six aircraft and three ground control stations, totaling 24 drones.
The first delivery of six TB2s occurred in October 2022 at Poland’s 12th Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Base. The final shipment was completed on May 16, 2024, during a ceremony attended by Poland’s deputy defense minister, the head of Turkey’s Presidency of Defence Industries agency, and Baykar’s general manager.
Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of Baykar, announced on the social media platform X, "We have delivered the last system of our Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs to Poland. This marks the first time in Turkey’s history that we have successfully exported high-tech UCAVs to a NATO and EU member country."
The Bayraktar TB2 is a medium-altitude, long-endurance drone designed for reconnaissance, target identification, and precision strikes. It features an advanced avionics suite that allows for autonomous taxiing, takeoff, landing, and cruising, enhancing its operational flexibility and effectiveness.
