Milrem Robotics expands THeMIS UGV production with new operational facility in Tallinn, Estonia, capable of manufacturing over 500 units annually.
The THeMIS UGV is currently deployed in robotics programs in 18 countries worldwide, including eight NATO member states such as Estonia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, the UK, and the US. Notably, these UGVs are actively supporting Ukrainian forces in their conflict with Russia.
Milrem Robotics' CEO, Kuldar Väärsi, cited the increasing interest from end-users in launching high-quantity procurements as a driving force behind the expansion. “Also, the growing use of UGVs in Ukraine shows a clear focus and importance of unmanned ground systems,” he added.
In addition to expanding production capacity, Milrem Robotics is also enhancing its prototyping facilities to expedite the development of new products. The company has added 1000 square meters of office space to accommodate its growing workforce.
Milrem Robotics plans to hire 100 new employees, primarily in Europe.
THeMIS Combat UGVs provide direct fire support for manoeuvre forces and act as a force multiplier. With an integrated self-stabilizing remote-controlled weapon system, they provide precision over wide areas, increasing stand-off distance, force protection and survivability. Combat UGVs can be equipped with light or heavy machine guns and Anti-Tank Missile Systems.
