Rostec subsidiary Concern Radioelectronic Technologies (KRET) is set to unveil a "black box" equipped with solid-state memory designed for civil aircraft at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The black box was developed by NPP "Izmeritel.” Located in the Smolensk region, KRET specializes in manufacturing various emergency onboard storage devices tasked with collecting and recording parametric and audio data crucial for post-incident analysis.
The showcased recorder forms an integral part of the onboard registration and control system IKBO-IMA, a product of the Federal Target Program for the Development of Civil Aviation in the Russian Federation. This system has laid the foundation for a new series of secure onboard storage devices that have found widespread adoption across numerous aircraft.
Oleg Stolyarov, the technical director of JSC NPP Izmeritel, noted their ability to withstand high temperatures and underwater pressure at significant depths, without compromising the integrity of the flight data. He further mentioned ongoing efforts by Izmeritel to develop the next generation of protected emergency onboard storage devices, catering to both domestic and international civil aircraft requirements.
