Anduril Industries is expanding its facility in Mississippi with the aim of increasing the annual production capacity of tactical-scale solid rocket motors (SRMs) from 600 to over 6,000.
This expansion is scheduled for completion by December 2024.
Solid rocket motors play a crucial role in a wide range of defense applications, from missile systems to launch vehicles.
Anduril manufactures SRMs ranging in size up to 110 inches in length and 42 inches in diameter. These SRMs, customized to meet specific requirements, serve various missions, including Rocket Assisted Take-Off, Air-to-Air, Air-to-Ground, Surface-to-Surface, Surface-to-Air, Hypersonic Boosters, Missile Defense, and Man-Portable Tactical Systems. They are fueled by Aluminum-Fueled AP Composite or a proprietary ALITEC-Fueled AP Composite, offering flexibility and tailored performance to mission needs. Thrust profiles are optimized for various mission requirements, including All-Boost and Boost-Sustain (Dual Thrust) configurations. Anduril SRMs also feature diverse grain geometries such as Center Perforated, End Burner/Wired End Burner, and Pulse Motor.
In addition to traditional rocket propellant, Anduril also develops ALITEC, a proprietary aluminum-lithium alloy propellant that enhances solid rocket motor performance.
