Houthis, Iraqi Resistance Target Four Merchant Ships in First Joint Operation

The Yemeni Armed Forces in a joint operation with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, targeted four merchant ships in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.

The militia, known as the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, confirmed that its fighters carried out a joint operation with the Houthi group by launching missile attacks on "a vital site in Haifa."

In a statement, the Yemeni Armed Forces explained that the first operation targeted the oil ship Waler in the Mediterranean Sea, heading to the port of Haifa, for violating a ban imposed on Israel.

The second operation targeted the American ship Delonix in the Red Sea with several ballistic missiles, reportedly hitting it directly. The third operation targeted the Johannes Maersk ship, belonging to the Maersk Company, in the Mediterranean Sea. The company is accused of supporting Israel and violating the ban on entering Israeli ports. The fourth operation targeted the ship Ioannis in the Red Sea with unmanned boats for violating the ban.

The Armed Forces stated these operations are a response to ongoing American-Israeli aggression against Palestinians in Gaza and that such operations will continue until the aggression stops and the siege on Gaza is lifted.

Earlier, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the implementation of two military operations. The first targeted a vital site in Haifa with cruise missiles, in cooperation with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, and reportedly achieved its objectives. The second operation targeted the ship SEAJOY in the Red Sea for violating the ban on entering Israeli ports, using unmanned boats, missiles, and drones.

The statement emphasized that the Yemeni Armed Forces, in cooperation with the Iraqi Resistance, will continue targeting Israeli ships or those associated with Israel until the aggression ceases and the siege on Gaza is lifted. Since October, the Yemeni Armed Forces and Iraqi Resistance have conducted numerous anti-Israeli strikes in response to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which has resulted in significant casualties.
