Raytheon, Avio Sign Contract for Solid Rocket Motor Development

Raytheon has entered into a contract with Avio, to advance the development of solid rocket motors for defense purposes.

This agreement, signed at the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow in the U.K., focuses on refining these motors to be production-ready, addressing the needs of the U.S. government and allied nations.

The partnership aims to develop rocket motor solutions that meet increasing domestic and international demands.

Avio plans to invest in enhancing its manufacturing capabilities, using its Italian engineering expertise to support Avio USA. This move aims to bolster the U.S. industrial base for solid rocket motors.

Giulio Ranzo, CEO of Avio, highlighted their experience in solid rocket motors as a foundation for expanding production capacity and creating new product lines.
