UK Trailing Decoy Armored Vehicles to Fool Russian Lancet Drones

The British Army is training a decoy "Stormer" armored vehicle that could fool Russian reconnaissance drones from the sky to draw fire away from the real thing.

The British government has given Ukraine some six Stormer armored vehicles as part of its military aid to Kyiv.

However, these vehicles could become easy targets for Russian artillery systems guided by reconnaissance drones which identify their coordinates and feed them to artillery gunners.

The decoys are made of sheet metal can be easily figured out from close range but could fool the imaging systems of drones from above, Forces.net reported

Stormer acts as a mobile platform for the Starstreak High Velocity Missile system, which is designed to counter threats from low-flying fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and drones.

Britain is concerned that the Stormer armored vehicles could become targets for the Russian Lancet Kamikaze drone which has proven itself in the Russia-Ukraine War.

It takes two hours to assemble a decoy Stormer and these could be placed in the line of battle where Russian reconnaissance drones operate.
