Rheinmetall Orders Hensoldt’s SPEXER Radars for Skyranger Air Defense Systems
SPEXER 2000M 3D MkIII radars will equip the Skyranger tanks of Germany and Austria, with Denmark also announcing a corresponding procurement.
Rheinmetall has awarded HENSOLDT a contract worth nearly €100 million to supply SPEXER air defense radars for the Skyranger 30 anti-aircraft gun tank (FlakPz).
The SPEXER 2000M 3D MkIII radars will equip the Skyranger tanks of Germany and Austria, with Denmark also announcing a corresponding procurement.
The Skyranger 30 succeeds the Gepard FlakPz in the Bundeswehr's air defense force. The German Skyranger 30 is based on the GTK Boxer, while the Austrian system is based on the Pandur EVO.
The SPEXER 2000 radar provides the Skyranger with target classification and accurate tracking capabilities while in motion or flight.
The SPEXER radar family offers surveillance capabilities for detecting and classifying ground, sea, and low-flying air targets.
HENSOLDT's portfolio includes the TRML-4D high-performance radar, Twinvis passive radar, and radars for securing ship and air traffic.
