Russia's Design Bureau "Oko" will showcase the Hi-82MK2, a modified version of the Hi-82 (Hello-82 or Privet-82) kamikaze drone, at the upcoming Army-2024 International Military Technical Forum.
The event will take place from August 12 to 14, 2024, at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center.
The Hi-82MK2 features an instrument take-off function, allowing it to launch without activating its camera. This capability enhances the drone's stealth and makes it harder for enemies to detect its launch location. The modification was developed at the request of Russian military personnel, Russian state media reported.
The Hi-82MK2 boasts a collapsible wing, enabling easy transport in a container, and has a range of up to 30 kilometers, a speed of up to 140 kilometers per hour, and a payload capacity of 5.5 kilograms. It is designed to destroy artillery, armored vehicles, and enemy fortifications.
Currently, the Hi-82MK2 is deployed in the Special Military Operation (SVO) zone.
