18 Syrians Killed, Two Iranians Kidnapped as Israeli Commandos Raid Syrian Town

Eighteen civilians were killed and 37 wounded when Israeli commandos raided the town of Massyaf in Syria.

“The Israeli aggression on Massyaf area in Hama western countryside on Sunday evening resulted in the martyrdom of 18 citizens and the injury of 37 others, in addition to causing material damage to the infrastructure, electricity networks, water, telephone, sewage lines, roads and machinery.” Syrian pro-regime media reported.

Several media outlets reported that Israeli forces landed in Syria during on Sunday night and engaged with Syrian security staff in Masyaf.

Syrian TV, a media outlet broadcasting from Turkey claim that Israeli commandos were deployed during the strikes to gather intelligence and clashed with Syrian forces, even kidnapping two Iranian agents.

The attack, which consisted of five waves over several hours, saw Israeli helicopters inserting commandos under heavy air cover. In addition, Israeli aircraft reportedly carried out aerial strikes to block off all roads leading to the site.
