A “hypersonic ballistic missile” that flew 2040 kms in 11.5 minutes struck a military target near Israel’s Jaffa town on Sunday morning getting past air defense systems such as the Iron Dome and Arrow.
The missile or debris from Israeli air defense missiles that failed to intercept the missile as it plunged to the ground, caused blazes in several places near the target area setting off sirens with people running into hardened shelters. There are reports of injuries to 9 people and damage to some property.
The missile is reported to have flown over Saudi Arabia and Jordan before entering Israel and was undetected until the last minute.
In a televised statement, the spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said: "Our Rocketry Forces carried out a special military operation targeting a military objective in the Jaffa area of occupied Palestine."
Brigadier General Saree explained that the operation was executed with a new hypersonic ballistic missile, which successfully reached its target, and the enemy's defenses failed to intercept or counter it.
He stated that the new missile covered a distance of 2,040 kilometers in 11.5 minutes, causing fear and panic among the Zionists, with more than two million Israelis seeking refuge in shelters, marking the first time in Israeli history.
"Today’s launch is the culmination of the efforts of the Rocketry forces, who worked tirelessly to develop missile technology to meet the demands and challenges of the battle. This success overcame all obstacles, including the American and Israeli defensive systems on land and at sea."
The Yemeni Armed Forces warned the "Zionist enemy" of more upcoming strikes and special operations, as the first anniversary of the blessed October 7 operation approaches. This includes retaliating for the enemy's criminal assault on the city of Hodeidah and continuing to support the oppressed Palestinian people, the Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson said.
