BEL gives Rs.77.07 cr dividend cheque to Govt

Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has paid a total dividend of 187% for the year 2008-09. Mr Ashwani Kumar Datt, Chairman and Managing Director, BEL, presented the 127% final dividend cheque of Rs.77,07,57,920 (Rupees seventy seven crore seven lakh fifty seven thousand nine hundred and twenty only) to the Defence Minister, Mr A K Antony, at New Delhi today (October 31, 2009). Mr R K Singh, Secretary (Defence Production), and Mr M G Raghuveer, Director (Finance), BEL, were also present on the occasion. The 60% interim dividend of Rs.36,41,37,600 was paid to the Government of India in February 2009. The company has paid a total dividend of Rs.113,48,95,520 to the Government of India for 2008-09.
