AERO Vodochody and Embraer announced today signed a contract amendment that expands their industrial cooperation on the C-390 Millennium transport aircraft program.
A key element of this cooperation is the increase of the Czech share in production, including the transfer of part of the production directly to Aero and to other Czech suppliers.
By way of the agreement, production of the aircraft will be significantly increased - from four sets in 2024 to eight in 2025, with a view to producing up to twelve sets per year in the following years.
The increase reflects growing demand for the C-390, with South Korea, Austria and the Netherlands becoming new customers in the past two years, and another acquisition expected from the Czech Ministry of Defense.
Viktor Sotona, Chairman of the Board and President of AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE stated: "We are the exclusive supplier of parts for the C-390 Millennium aircraft, we participate in both their production and development. We are the main partner of Embraer in the Czech Republic and one of the most important in Central Europe. We are now reaching a new goal and 2024 is a turning point for us."
Filip Kulštrunk, executive vice president of Aero added: "The expansion of our cooperation with Embraer is the result of a joint effort for stable deliveries, greater involvement of Czech companies in the program and a rapid increase in production capacity so that we can respond to the growing interest in the C-390 aircraft.”
