Joint-stock company "Ukrainian Defense Industry" has reached cooperation agreements with four Western arms companies during the second International Forum of Defense Industries.
The event, attended by representatives of approximately 300 companies from over 30 countries, highlighted Ukraine's expanding role in global arms production.
Ukraine's defense industry has been developing at a rapid pace. In the first half of the current year, domestic arms manufacturers produced 25 times more artillery and mortar ammunition than in the entirety of 2022. The capacity of drone manufacturers in Ukraine is 4 million units, with over 1.5 million already contracted for production.
During the forum, Ukrainian defense company Ukroboronprom signed partnership documents with arms companies from the United States, France, and Poland. These agreements focus on cooperation in the fields of munitions and special chemicals, unmanned systems, as well as radio-electronic intelligence and electronic warfare technologies.
Speaking about the potential impact of these agreements, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi emphasized the importance of Ukraine's defense sector, stating that it should become a key contributor to global security and a significant player in the global arms market.
The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, recently noted that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine has increased its arms production sixfold.
