Anduril Industries has secured a $250 million contract to supply the U.S. Department of Defense with over 500 Roadrunner-M interceptors and Pulsar electronic warfare systems to counter unmanned aerial system (UAS) threats.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024 and will continue through the end of 2025.
The Roadrunner system, a high-explosive vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) interceptor, was unveiled last year and is designed to neutralize larger UAS threats with high speed, maneuverability, and cost efficiency. When combined with the AI-enabled Pulsar electronic warfare systems, these technologies will enhance air defense capabilities at key operational sites where U.S. forces face elevated UAS threats.
Roadrunner has been deployed for Combat Evaluation since January 2024, while Pulsar systems have been operational in several regions since August 2023. This latest contract award follows Anduril’s ongoing investment in Research and Development, which has resulted in rapid development and fielding of these systems.
Since their public launch, the Roadrunner and Pulsar systems have secured nearly $350 million in contracts across various U.S. defense branches. These contracts support operational deployments, system validation, testing, and integration with existing defense systems to ensure optimal performance.
