The U.S. State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Italy, involving the Electronic Attack (EA)-37B mission system and related equipment, with an estimated cost of $680 million.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency has formally notified Congress of this potential sale.
The proposed sale includes a range of non-Major Defense Equipment, such as Network Centric Collaborative Targeting systems, various subsystems for system control and monitoring, radio frequency receivers, and software-defined radios. Additional items include secure communications equipment, precision navigation devices, maintenance support, personnel training, and logistics support.
The primary contractor for this deal will be BAE Systems, based in Hudson, New Hampshire.
