Lockheed Martin Prepares for X-59's First Flight

Lockheed Martin, in partnership with NASA Aeronautics, has begun engine run testing for the X-59 QueSST, marking the final major system check before the aircraft's first flight.

This test is the first time the X-59 has been powered entirely by its own engines.

The testing focuses on verifying several critical systems, including inlet and nozzle performance, aircraft-engine structural interfaces, and engine control algorithms.

Now running on its own power, the aircraft's full integration and functionality are being tested.

After these successful runs, the X-59 will undergo further tests, including electromagnetic interference evaluations, simulated in-flight failures, and emergency power system validation.

The aircraft will then proceed to low-speed and high-speed taxi tests, preparing it for its first flight.
