The U.S. State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to South Korea for an F-15K aircraft upgrade, valued at $6.2 billion.
This decision was announced on November 19, following certification from the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). The sale includes 96 Advanced Display Core Processor II (ADCP II) mission system computers, 70 AN/APG-82(v)1 AESA radars, 70 AN/ALQ-250 Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) electronic warfare suites, and 70 AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning Systems (CMWS).
The deal also encompasses various logistics and support elements such as Joint Mission Planning Systems (JMPS), aircraft components, training devices, and U.S. Government and contractor engineering services. The estimated cost for these upgrades is $6.2 billion.
The primary contractors for this deal will be Boeing, Raytheon Technologies, and BAE Systems.
