Raytheon has completed the Delta Design Review of its Advanced Electronic Warfare (ADVEW) prototype for the U.S. Navy's F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet.

The ADVEW system aims to replace existing electronic warfare components on the aircraft to improve its survivability and long-term sustainability.

The review focused on evaluating the weapons replaceable assemblies (WRAs) and ensuring that the hardware system meets necessary specifications. It confirmed the system’s ability to provide essential electronic attack and electronic support measures, the company said in an official release.

In December 2023, Raytheon secured an $80 million contract to prototype the ADVEW system for the U.S. Navy. The successful Delta Design Review paves the way for the next phase, which will involve government laboratory testing to validate Open Mission Systems compliance and demonstrate system capabilities.
