Saab has signed a contract with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration for the modernisation of Sweden’s coastal anti-ship missile capability.
The total order value amounts to SEK 800 million ($88 million), and deliveries are set to begin in 2026. The majority of the order intake was booked in the third quarter of 2024.
The contract covers Saab’s RBS15 Mk3 anti-ship missile, which will be integrated on a launcher module mounted on a truck. This will replace the RBS15 Mk2, which is currently in use by the Swedish Armed Forces. Sweden reintroduced coastal anti-ship missiles in 2016, and the RBS15 Mk3 will now complement these capabilities with latest launcher platforms.
The RBS15 Mk3 boasts a range of over 200 km and can be launched from both ships and trucks, primarily targeting naval assets. Saab, in collaboration with its German partner Diehl Defence, develops and produces the RBS15 Mk3 system.
