Embraer has announced a firm order for six A-29 Super Tucano light attack and trainer aircraft from an undisclosed customer.
The order, part of the company's fourth-quarter 2024 backlog, is scheduled for delivery in 2026.
The A-29 Super Tucano will be configured for missions such as battlefield air interdiction, close air support, maritime patrol, maritime strike, and territorial defense. Its design allows operation from unpaved runways, making it adaptable for various environments and mission types, including armed reconnaissance, light attack, and advanced training.
The A-29 Super Tucano has accumulated over 570,000 flight hours, including 60,000 in combat, and has received more than 290 orders to date. Earlier in 2024, Embraer confirmed additional sales of the aircraft to the Portuguese Air Force, Uruguayan Air Force, and Paraguayan Air Force.
