Lockheed Martin Delivers First AN/SPY-7 Radar Antenna for Aegis System to Japan

Lockheed Martin has delivered the first AN/SPY-7(V)1 radar antenna to Japan's Ministry of Defense through a Direct Commercial Sale with Mitsubishi Corporation.

This delivery is part of the Aegis System Equipped Vessel (ASEV) program’s integration. The radar antenna will undergo final integration with the ASEV combat system at the Production Test Center in Moorestown. This phase aims to minimize integration risks and ensure the system meets Japan’s defense needs.

The AN/SPY-7 radar is a solid-state system designed for detecting, tracking, and engaging ballistic missiles and advanced air threats. It can engage multiple targets simultaneously, offering greater precision and reliability for military operations. The radar has been selected for use in Spain’s F-110 frigates and Canada’s River-Class Destroyer and is also being deployed in Guam.
