Textron Systems has launched the TSUNAMI family of autonomous maritime surface vessels.

These vessels are designed to address the operational needs of the U.S. Department of Defense and allied forces, combining uncrewed technology with U.S. commercial shipbuilding capabilities.

Developed in collaboration with Brunswick Corporation, the TSUNAMI series integrates Textron’s CUSV autonomy control system. The vessels operate on gasoline for simplified logistics and maintenance, offering a payload capacity of up to 1,000 pounds (453.6 kilograms). Current models include 24-, 25-, and 28-foot variants, which are deployable up to Sea State 4 and provide operational ranges from 600 to over 1,000 nautical miles. The design allows for adaptation to various vessel sizes, configurations, and high-volume production needs.

Textron Systems has previously developed the Navy’s first small USV program of record, utilizing its experience in integrating multi-mission payloads for uncrewed surface vessels to support defense and allied operations.
