Liquid Robotics, a Boeing company, and India’s Sagar Defence Engineering have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-develop and co-produce Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs) for Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), advancing U.S.-India defense industrial cooperation.

The agreement aims to enhance maritime security and undersea domain awareness (UDA) by establishing manufacturing, system integration, testing, and maintenance capabilities for ASW platforms. It also supports the Autonomous Systems Industry Alliance (ASIA) to expand defense production partnerships across the Indo-Pacific.

The project marks the first U.S. company-led ASV development with an Indian startup, reinforcing India’s potential as a hub for sustainment and export of autonomous maritime systems.
