Boeing Receives $2.45B to Sustain C-17s Transport Aircraft for Foreign Customers:
C-17 Globemaster III cargo aircraft

The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded Boeing a $2.45 billion contract modification for the sustainment of the C-17 Globemaster III, increasing the total contract value to $7.59 billion.

The contract, originally issued in 2021, covers support and sustainment services for the U.S. Air Force and allied operators of the C-17 transport aircraft. The modification extends sustainment services through October 31, 2027.

The contract includes Foreign Military Sales (FMS) for C-17 operators in Australia, Canada, India, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and NATO's Airlift Management Program. It funds services such as program management, logistics, engineering, aircraft maintenance, propulsion system support, and field services.

A total of 275 C-17s are currently in operation worldwide, performing tactical and strategic airlift, troop and cargo transport, medical evacuation, and airdrop missions. Boeing has supported the fleet since acquiring McDonnell Douglas, the original manufacturer, in 1997.
