The U.S. State Department has approved a potential $120 million Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Government of the Philippines for TH-73A training helicopters and related support.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) formally notified Congress of the proposed deal on Tuesday.
Under the request, the Philippines aims to acquire TH-73A helicopters along with an aircraft simulator, spare engines, fuel tanks, aircraft hoists, commercial avionics, flight management systems, GPS units, and a wide range of associated equipment. The package also includes spare and repair parts, unclassified software and publications, technical documentation, commercial training systems, and both U.S. Government and contractor support services.
AgustaWestland Philadelphia Corporation, a subsidiary of Leonardo located in Pennsylvania, has been identified as the principal contractor for the deal.
