Poland’s Deputy Minister of National Defense Paweł Bejda met with the CEO of RTX (formerly Raytheon) to discuss expanding defense cooperation, with a focus on increasing Poland’s industrial role in global supply chains.
The talks covered plans to begin production of cable harnesses for the Patriot missile system in Poland and to expand local involvement in building Patriot launchers for export. Cooperation on developing air defense radars and radiolocation technologies was also discussed.
A key topic was accelerating missile deliveries for Poland’s FA-50 aircraft and exploring local production. Integration of FA-50s with U.S. weapon systems was also raised.
Both sides also explored joint work on counter-drone technologies.
In August 2024, Poland signed a $1.23 billion deal with Raytheon Polska and PGZ Huta Stalowa Wola to produce 48 M903 Patriot launchers domestically. The move comes as Poland boosts defense spending to 4% of GDP in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
