Rockwell Collins wins contract for maintenance by U.S.

Rockwell Collins has been awarded a four-year contract for the U.S. Navy's Hawkeye Integrated Training System - Maintenance (HITS-M) program. Under the terms of the agreement, Rockwell Collins will serve as the prime contractor in designing and developing the first integrated maintenance training systems on the E-2D platform. Prior to this contract, Rockwell Collins was awarded the E-2D HITS-A (Aircrew) contract and has performed and delivered the E-2C Weapon System Trainer (WST) and Simulated Maintenance Trainer (SMT). "With the award of the E-2D HITS-M contract, Rockwell Collins continues to be positioned as the premier provider for Hawkeye training solutions," said Ken Schreder, vice president and general manager of Simulation & Training Solutions for Rockwell Collins. "Our integrated training solutions will be used to provide maintenance technicians with the latest blended training capabilities, consisting of classroom instruction, PC-based and physical device trainers." The HITS-M solution is comprised of: -- Curriculum developed following Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles -- Learning objectives traceable to the master training task list -- Instructor Led Training (ILT) and Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) -- Interactive courseware Training media deliverables include: -- Simulated Maintenance Trainer (SMT) -- Power Plant Trainer (PPT) -- PC simulation -- Contractor logistics support By leveraging strengths in avionic systems development and training systems design, Rockwell Collins delivers total integrated training solutions that span the entire training life cycle, from instructional systems design through fully integrated high-fidelity training systems and support.
