General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, was awarded the Wideband Networking Waveform Software In-Service Support contract by the U.S. Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, to support, maintain and add new capabilities to the Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW). Part of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) waveform library, WNW provides the bandwidth capacity needed to move large amounts of data through the U.S. military’s tactical network. The five-year, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract has a maximum potential value of $64.5 million if all options are exercised. “The Wideband Networking Waveform does the heavy lifting needed to quickly and efficiently move large amounts of data from the core of the network to the tactical edge,” said Chris Brady, vice president of Assured Communications for General Dynamics C4 Systems. “The work done by General Dynamics will ensure this waveform remains effective and relevant today and into the future, regardless of which radio or communications device is using it.”
