Oshkosh Corp has been awarded a contract by the United Arab Emirates
to provide 750 mine-resistant, all-terrain vehicles to its armed
forces. The M-ATVs is scheduled to be delivered between January and August
2013 and the contract cost is estimated to be $330 million. M-ATVs will enhance UAE’s ground operations by providing greater off-road mobility and crew protection to support national security, critical missions related to the security of the Middle East and the broader community of nations. Oshkosh Corp. Communications Director John Daggett said the vehicles will be built in Oshkosh and that UAE could increase the size of the contract if it so desires. Oshkosh Corp. has produced more than 9,500 M-ATVs for the US Army and Marine Corps since winning a contract for the new generation of more mobile armored vehicles in June 2009.
