General Dynamics Awarded $2.2Bn U.S. Department Of State Contract

General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (GD), has been awarded a contract to provide supply chain management services to the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security. The five-year contract has an initial award of $22 million and a potential value of $2.2 billion, if all options are exercised. Under this contract, General Dynamics will deliver a full-spectrum global supply chain management solution, including the technology infrastructure needed to integrate and manage the real-time flow of security equipment and related information for more than 430 facilities worldwide. This solution will ensure that the State Department, its embassies and annexes have current and accurate information about equipment status, lead-time and shipment-tracking information. "Whether implementing new logistics systems or modernizing and maintaining existing systems, General Dynamics has the expertise needed to address critical supply chain challenges," said Zannie Smith, senior vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Information Technology's National and Homeland Security division.
