Russia's second Sukhoi Su-30SM multi role fighter jet successfully completed its maiden test flight on Monday. The second fighter jet completed the flight tests and stayed in the air for an hour and 40 minutes. The Su-30SM is a two-seat version and is capable of air-to-air and air-to-ground missions and features thrust-vectoring engines to enhance maneuverability that meets the Russian Air Force's specific requirements. A contract was signed between Russia and Irkut early this year for the delivery of 30 Su-30SM multirole fighter aircraft scheduled for 2015. The first Su-30M made its test flight few days ago as part of a comprehensive testing program for the aircraft that has been upgraded for the Russian Air Force.
