The U.S NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support has awarded a $218.4 million Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contract to Bell-Boeing for the V-22 Osprey. This Cost Plus Inventive Fee (CPIF) contract delivers supply support for 168 line items of repairable and consumable components common to the Air Force CV-22 and Marine Corps MV-22 tilt-rotor aircraft. The contract performs through Dec. 31, 2016 and contains language that encourages Bell-Boeing to improve repair and supply chain capability while also returning a portion of cost to the Navy for efficiencies realized during performance. This contract award increases current active PBLs at NAVSUP WSS to 31. "The V-22 Joint PBL is a key step in supporting the V-22 for the next 36 years of the expected life cycle." said NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Operations Director Capt. Duke Heinz. "The V-22 Joint PBL is a combination of best practices to achieve a ready and affordable V-22 fleet".
