The Iraqi Air Force will recieve an additional 18 F-16s, according to a Pentagon statement. Lockheed Martin wsa awarded a contract worth $830 million to supply the fighter aircraft to Iraq.
The contract also includes production of associated support equipment, technical orders, integrated logistics support, contractor logistics support and an electronic warfare system.
This award comes nearly five months after the Pentagon announced another $563 million contract to Lockheed for 20 F-16s, which the Air Force also intends to support a foreign military sales agreement.
